*ONLINE* In this class, conducted as a cooking demonstration and workshop, we will study, prepare, and taste early modern English recipes. We will explore the background, methods, and meanings behind a few historic preparations for sweets and learn about premodern food culture, especially the importance of sugar, through reading and making recipes.
